Filipino-American woman boxer Ana Julaton Squares of with Canada's Liza Brown for the vacant women WBA 122-pound Junior Featherweight crown Saturday night at the Casino Rama in Toronto.

Julaton is a relatively young professional boxer who holds a record of six victories and one loss while Liza Brown has a 16-4-3 professional record. "I fell in love with downtown (Toronto) right away.

For me it feels just like home," said Julaton, who is 6-1-1 with two knockouts. "I feel like I can relate (to Canadian fans)." Julaton's professional boxing career started with her first loss to Dominga Olivo in August 2008. She felt sad about her failed attempt to make a good start professionally but she went on to win all her succeeding fights.

"After that fight I took a year off. ... It actually gave me time to sit back and focus and reorganize myself," said Julaton, who moonlights as a martial arts instructor in Daly City, California.

"To be at the top of the game, you have to be able to juggle the physical aspect and also the entertainment aspect of it. For me, my first priority is being an athlete. I'm not looking past this fight."

Julaton is very popular in the Philippines while international media recently took notice of her growing popularity in women boxing. In fact, ESPN sports will feature her next month in the season premier of the news magazine show E:60.
