Facebook is expanding outside the U.S. The giant social networking company is setting up its first office in Asia. The new office will have complete online sales and operations teams who are experts on Facebook products and services.

Giant social networking company Facebook is expanding globally with the establishment of a new office in Hyderabad in southern India.

The new Asia office will complement Facebook's other offices in the USA and Ireland. The company is also setting up new facilities in Austin, Texas. The new office will have online sales and operations teams, said Don Faul, director of global online operations for Facebook. PC World reports:

Facebook will start with a small initial team in Hyderabad, which will include experts on the Facebook product to help users with their questions, and specialists in online advertising to help advertisers, the company said in a statement issued separately on Monday.

Facebook is now the most visited site in the U.S., just surpassing Google. Facebook made up 7.07 percent of all Web traffic for the week ending March 13, barely edging out Google's 7.03 percent. Facebook is the top networking site when it comes to the time spent by online users. "In January, 11.6% of all time spent online was spent on Facebook (compared to 4.25% for Yahoo and 4.1% for Google)," according to research firm, Compete. A relatively new site Twitter is also quickly growing, attracting about 22 million unique visitors in January.
