Popular actor Jeff Bridges finally got his best actor award during the Golden Globes awards night held at the Beverly Hills Hilton in Beverly Hills California for his exceptional performance in the film 'Crazy Heart'
American actor Jeff Bridges has won the best actor award at the Golden Globes awarding night Sunday in Beverly Hills, California The popular actor got the award for his performance as a 'washed-up' singer in the firm 'Crazy Heart'.
 
The 60-year-old Hollywood veteran, who had been nominated for a Golden Globe on three previous occasions but never won, has received widespread critical plaudits for his performance. Bridges received a lengthy standing ovation as he walked to the stage to receive his honor.
 
His most notable films include:The Last Picture Show, Tron, Against All Odds, Starman, The Fabulous Baker Boys, The Fisher King, Fearless, The Big Lebowski, Arlington Road, The Contender, Iron Man, Seabiscuit, and Crazy Heart.
 
His first major role was in the 1971 movie The Last Picture Show for which he garnered a nomination for the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor. He was nominated again for the same award for his performance opposite Clint Eastwood in the 1974 film Thunderbolt and Lightfoot.
 
He was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Actor in 1984 for playing the alien in Starman. Bidges, who was born in Los Angeles, California is married to Susan Geston and they have three grown up daughters.
 
He is the son of actor Lloyd Bridges.and the younger brother of actor Beau Bridges.
